It has finally happened!

After almost 5 years we have finally locked one of our kids in the car! Luckily (if you can be lucky in this situation...) we were at our house and in our garage and not outside in the rain! One of the girls must have hit the lock button on our way our of the truck, we took daddy's truck when we went out because we were picking up some stuff that wouldn't fit inside my car. Anyways, I took the girls out (they were on my side) and Deric was untying the stuff on top of the truck so he could move it so we could close the door. I was walking the girls up the steps and he asked if I got Brody, I said that I hadn't. He went to open his door and nothing happened! My poor baby was locked in the truck! I quickly looked for our spare set of keys, but since we hadn't used them since we switched sides of the house they were no where to be found! I went to the garage to see if Deric had a clue where they were, and we switched spots (he stayed in the garage with Brody while I was looking). Brody was quite the trooper and had no idea what a bind we were in! I played peek-a-boo with him squatting under the window and jumping up, he loved it. He didn't fuss once, I think it would have broken my heart if he was trapped in the truck crying and there was nothing I could do about it. I stood there jumping around in front of Brody's window when I heard a click and the lights inside of the truck popped on! I threw open the door before it had a chance to lock again (like that could happen considering Deric found the spare keys and he is who unlocked it in the first place) and ripped him out of there and smothered him in kisses! All is well now and he is sleeping the night away. I am tempted to peek in his room but he is a light sleeper and I really wouldn't want to wake him...

I am so glad you were at home when this happen, it could have been so much worse. It does sound like much fun to watch you dancing out the Truck window. I am glad that Brody wasn't scared. :)

Poor baby (you, not Brody)! I'm glad you found the keys!
