This is what our house will kinda look like.. we have changed a few things, the windows are going to be longer and thinner and the octagonal vent is now a small window (in the bathroom) and I want the stairs to be on the front of the porch instead of on the side...
Here is the first floor.. pretty self explanatory (at least I think so) The parts marked foyer, master suite, and play room is our existing house now (of course that isn't what the rooms are now.. the foyer is our family room, play room is my room the master bath and closet is the girls room, the master bedroom is our kitchen, and our bathroom now is where the bathroom sink is.) The kitchen isn't really laid out yet, but that is pretty close to how it will be.
This is the second floor (also known as the kid floor) Bedroom 1 will be guest room/Mommy's 'play room' (scrap booking, sewing, stuff like that), Bed 2 is Brody's room, and that leaves Bed 3 for Kylie and Reygann (yes, I still plan on them sharing a room.. they have been for over a year now, might as well keep it up. So what do ya think? It is going to be a welcomed change from the cracker box we live in now! (...And it can't come soon enough!)

how exciting to finally be getting space! isn't space such a welcome change??? i feel your pain in a cracker box... camper life is as cramped as can be. but you'll cherish your space, trust me!!

Erin we are in the existing part of this house (we are adding on to the side of it, great room, kitchen, porch, garage... all that stuff will be new, all the rest will be gutted and redone) the house now is 750sq ft not TOO bad, but that is less than a 1/3 of where we came from!! I hated living IN the mess last time, and there were no kids then.. so we'll see how it goes this time. I don't think it would be so bad if we weren't living in the mess.. but we can't afford 2 payments and I don't want to live in my camper, so this is where we are! And to answer JoEllens question, we aren't really sure what we are doing... I really want to stay when we are done, but part of it depends on how much the mortgage will be when we are done. If we think it is too much we will start looking for another house to do. We eventually wanted to build our house, but that is so expensive. So us staying here depends on the cost and how Deric's job is going.

I can't imagine living in such a tiny space...but I am so excited that you're going to be able to start building! We'll pray that everything will go smoothly and quickly! Your home looks so lovely!
Oh, and I"m not pregnant..that test result did come back...so now to figure out what it is...
I think we need to start a support group for those of us who are in the midst of building/remodeling our houses. There are actually quite a few of us! We could give each other tips on how to survive in small spaces and give each other crock-pot recipes (for those of us without working kitchens) and how not to lose our sanity, oh and how to motivate our men to FINISH! HA HA HA!!!!! Just a thought!
