It isn't an issue of turning the heat up or not, it is just drafty in here (it's worse this year since the siding is torn off, I can see light behind the outlets on the outside walls!) Anyways the furnace is running every 10 minutes and it isn't getting any warmer in here. The thermostat by the window said it was 61, so give or take a degree for the drafty window (that is shrink wrapped in the tacky window plastic) and it is somewhere in the low 60's. It didn't help that the other night the basement/garage door popped open! There was a COLD breeze blowing up from the basement! It is a good thing Brody woke up otherwise I wouldn't have been over there to figure it out. It was blowing up the stairs so strongly that it was blowing the door at the top open. And to top things off the attic hole somehow got blown open too! We didn't catch that one till morning though. Since all our sofits are open (they we taken off with the siding) it had to just have been a gust from there or something. It is finally warm in here... but that is because we have the torpedo heater going in the addition and we have the window open with a piece of ductwork blowing it this way! Never mind the smell in here now (from the kerosene), at least we are warm! I do have a headache though... that could be because it is really loud, it runs for about 30 minutes each time is kicks on. I did make Deric buy a CO2 dect while we were at the store yesterday, better safe than sorry!
