Kylie's boo boo

Kylie slipped and fell in the bathtub and bit her tongue, it looked pretty nasty and wouldn't stop bleeding. We were at my parents house and I was giving the girls a bath after playing in the sand.. I think Kylie stood up and was trying to look out the window and slipped and hit her chin and that is how she bit it so hard. She was a trooper.. at first there wasn't any blood so I didn't think it was that bad then all of a sudden it came gushing out and there was blood running all down the front of her! There was too much blood to really see but I could tell it was deep.. After sucking on some ice she was ready to get back in the tub and it didn't seem to bother her.

She couldn't wait to show daddy when he got home from work. She told him that she bit her tongue and got a boo boo, but now her tongue had a mouth! (since there is a flap in it)

That evening was hard on her, we tried putting some numbing medicine on it since she had problems eating her snack earlier, but she wouldn't leave her tongue out long enough to let it dry and said it tasted icky and wouldn't let us try again. But that was the last time she complained about it, I actually think she has forgotten about it already.

Why, why, why

Why do they have to make cereal so small? Seriously why can't they be fist sized pieces instead of these teeny-tiny pieces you can hardly see? Why do you ask... because the girls were eating breakfast while I was showering, and apparently they were done so Kylie 'helped' Reygann out of her chair, and somehow in the process the rice crispy's exploded all over the kitchen. Of course I am in the shower and Kylie is asking me something about the vacuum, and I just know what is waiting for me when I get out (we seem to have this problem with Cheerios too), sure enough Reygann is sitting ON the table (not AT) and it seems like everything is covered! Sorry I didn't take any pictures.. I couldn't get to the camera without smashing most of them, and I was more concerned about keeping my towel in place.. maybe next time I'll get the picture! So I really think we need to start a campaign to get rid of the tiny cereal pieces and have them only make large size ones! Anybody with me?

Labor Day Parade

We decided to spend Labor Day in Lowell at the parade since the girls had such a good time at the last parade.

Not long into the parade there was a fly over by some jets, and then they went over again and did some figure 8's and other manuvers, it was pretty cool.

Kylie was just sitting there minding her own business and then it hit her... parades are famous for candy!

Reygann was more intrested in the bag of teddy grahams than the parade... at least until she figured out that there was candy too.

I love this crazy face.. she was charging me so you can't see the candy in her hands, but trust me, it's there! She would put them in her bag and then two seconds later she would grab them out again, just to make sure they were still there.

One of my favorite parts was when the people from Mi Ranchito (one of my favorite mexican restaurants) went by. Kylie liked the horses and the girls pretty dresses, but mommy was disappointed that they weren't throwing chips and salsa.. Yumm, I think I feel a craving coming on!!

A Special Day

MaMoo and Papoo called and asked if they could take the girls for the day. We didn't have any problem with that, I think we were just as excited to get the afternoon off as they were to go! They started things out just right with Mac and Cheese.. one of their favorites!

Reygann was loving it so much she just couldn't use the spoon (it was taking too long) so she held it and used her other hand instead!

Kylie brought her baby doll with and the three of them took a quick 'nap' on the lounge chair.

Mom told me later that Reygann kept sniffing their flowers... but she would pull the flower off and sniff it and then get another one! Oops!

After lunch they went for a boat ride on 'Papoo's Lake', both girls love going on the boat and Kylie is always asking me where Papoo's Lake is.

There is a park on the lake where you can beach the boat and play at the park or in the sand, Reygann loved the sand and kept eating cupfulls of it at a time!

After playing in the sand for a bit Kylie moved on to the swings.. I think that is her new favorite thing to do. I had been teaching her how to pump her legs to keep swinging, but she was having more fun trying to kick Papoo instead!

By the time they brought the kids back there was just enough time to wash the day off of them and tuck two tired girls into bed for the night!

Play time

We met Joanie and kids at the park this morning.. they had a great time playing together and Joan and I had a better time having another adult around! When we got home I realized how dirty the kids were, especially Reygann! I think she had a rock eating contest with Haven, she had dirt all over her face and hands and buried under her finger nails.. She actually doesn't look too dirty here, but trust me she was pretty filthy!

Cousins

The girl's cousins were up for a visit and went to the parade with us, Reygann and Lynnzie are 5 months apart and will hopefully be pals. Lynnzie is just starting to walk and is a little unsure still, she kept trying to hug Reygann and would almost knock her over! Reygann wasn't too sure what to think about that and sometimes ran away from her so she wouldn't get beat up! Other than that they were being really sweet to each other and Reygann loved giving Lynnzie kisses.

Fourth of July

We went to the Fouth of July Parade in Crown Point again this year. It was Reygann's first parade and she really seemed to like it. Kylie was covering her ears when the cars went by with their sirens on, but Reygann wasn't phased at all. She loved every second of it.. I think all the people walking by and throwing candy at us really helped!

Here comes the Bride?

My sister Jody got married in June and Kylie got to be the flower girl.. She was in heaven.. all we heard for weeks was Kylie talking about HER wedding. It is a good thing Jody didn't hear that it wasn't Her big day, but it was Kylie's instead!! To this day I don't think she knows it wasn't her wedding.. she even yelled after the people leaving "Thanks for coming to my wedding!" What a cutie! She will even pull her flower girl dress out and show people her 'wedding dress' when they come over, and we had to wear it to church.. AGAIN! I have a feeling that she could turn into a mini Bridezilla when it is her turn to get married!

These last two are Kylie having a ball with the Karoke! I think she sang 10 different songs before we had to pull her away so someone else could have a turn! I thought for sure she was going to be too shy and get down without singing a note.. but she proved me wrong!
