Ice Cream!

The other day when I was grocery shopping I came across these cute Christmas tree ice creams. We haven't had ice cream in a while so I picked them up as a special treat. Brody REALLY enjoyed it! These pictures aren't the greatest but you get the idea.

This one is a little washed out because I was sitting so close to them, but he has ice cream all over his mouth.


It was obviously cold and he kept wrinkling up his face after taking a bite because it would freeze his mouth.

A New Tradition?

Last year for Christmas my Aunt Margaret gave my kids the How the Grinch stole Christmas book and characters, the kids really liked it then and when I pulled it out this year (I packed it away with the Christmas stuff) they still liked it. They have been playing with the characters and reading the book to each other. Brody was so cute, he kept putting the Grinch on his shoulder and bouncing up and down patting its back (like what you do to calm a baby). I remember him sucking on the Grinch last year and grabbing him and having fuzz in his hands... it is crazy how much bigger he is this year!


After reading the book a few times during the day they were so excited when daddy came home so they could read it again. So after dinner everyone got ready for bed and they piled in daddy's lap and he read them the story again. Brody didn't last for long and after a while we just let him run around. The girls were so excited I'm thinking that we should make this some sort of tradition, we could throw in the movie too... (not the Jim Carey one) I think they would like that. It might have to wait till next year though... we are really busy with the house and have been working late (or at least Deric has been) and there isn't time before bed.

More Garbage

Yep, he's still doing it! (On the down side I have found a few non-garbage items in there too... you win some you lose some!)

Our Christmas Party

Last night was our Bunco Christmas party that turned into more than just a bunco party. Joan so wonderfully hosted the 15 of us. (There were more, but at the last minute they weren't able to come.) It was a great night, such a fun time! I didn't really take a lot of pictures and the ones I have are random, sorry guys! I don't even have pictures of everyone...

Mommy's Little Helper

So here's the deal... every time I change Brody's diaper he is always trying to grab them when we are done. I don't let him play with the diapers because one time he opened it up, that's not a good thing! So this time he really REALLY wanted the diaper and started to crab and so I let him have it to see what he would do with it... and he picked it up and took off, right to the garbage can!! If I knew he was going to throw them out I would have started giving them to him sooner! Once I realized that he was going to throw it away (or at least I was pretty sure he was going to) I grabbed the camera and ran after him...




All gone! What a good boy!


Now, part of us thought this just might be a fluke so the next time we changed him we waited to see what he would do. Soon as he was done he grabbed the diaper and took off again and this time I was ready for him.





Look at him, he is so proud of himself! What a smart little boy!

House Update

I got our countertop and flooring picked out this past week. None of it is ordered yet, we are still waiting for a few more quotes. Hopefully we will be ordering it soon, we are cutting this close!! Brody was helping me look through the sample rings...

So you really can't tell from this picture, but this is the countertop we picked next to the backsplash we are going to have. (The one right next to the sample)

Sorry things are such a mess, that is why I didn't take an updated picture sooner. I realized that it isn't going to be tidy for a while still so I just took the pictures. You can pretty much see what the kitchen looks like from here. Pardon the pendant lights, they are the adjustable kind and we have them all the way down to stretch out the cords. I'll look and see if I have a picture with them up. (On a side note, I really wanted adjustable pendants but was having a really hard time finding them. These aren't the finish or size I wanted but I found them on clearance for $30!! That's unheard of! They were originally $140 something, what a steal!)


I found one... here are the pendants in the normal position, it looks much better than hanging so low.

Here's our Christmas tree, the poor thing is in the addition all by itself. We figured that we aren't going to set it up in here just to move it over there so it got set up over there and we can look through the window at it. We still don't have lights on it... maybe we can do that tomorrow... we aren't going to decorate it because we will have to move it around a few times while putting the flooring in. Hopefully we can get that done soon so it can start to feel like Christmas in here!


I can't remember if I posted these or not so just in case... We finally got the window for our bathroom! We didn't order it when we ordered the other ones because we weren't sure if we wanted it or not blah, blah, blah. So anyways we ordered it, and when we went to pick it up they said that we already did. Humm, no we didn't... where did it go? We finally figured out a few weeks later that since we ordered it under the business account it had been sent to one of dad's jobs. Dad wondered where this window came from and had it in his truck to bring back. Finally everyone put two and two together and we got our window.

It makes such a huge difference to have a window in the bathroom! There isn't a window in the hall (I wanted one there too, but just the one will have to do), so having a window in the bathroom shines so much light into the hall, it is so nice!
